​Advanced Skills in Watercolor
Are you ready to move up to the next level with your watercolor paintings?  This class will help you to take that jump.  We will start by identifying stumbling blocks and bad habits, and learning how to overcome them.  From there, we will work on planning for a painting.
We will also practice essential skills, such as: designing an interesting painting, advanced brush skills, painting wet-in-wet, layering and glazing, adding textures, and painting “alla prima”.  The subject matter will be your choice. Weekly homework assignments will help you to make rapid progress.  Peg will also offer demonstrations, one on one help, and colored worksheets. A materials list will be sent.

Dates: Mondays, January 9, 16, 23, 30, February 6, 13

Skill Level: This class is open to all levels

Painting a Forest in Watercolor
Learn how to paint a forest in this fun and informative workshop!  We will use brushes, mat board, foam core, sponges and salt to create woodland scenes from any season of the year.  You will learn new techniques, get tips on composition, and learn how to choose colors that will work for your painting.  Bring photos of forest scenes (Peg will have some, too).  Peg will provide color worksheets, demonstrations, one-on-one help, and critiques.

Location: Shenandoah Valley Art Center, 126 South Wayne Avenue, Waynesboro
Skill Level: Participants should have basic skills in watercolor. 
Cost: $105 
Registration: Registration is directly through me.  On this website, under "Upcoming Classes", go to "Registration Form for Painting Forests in Watercolor".  Print out the from, fill in the bottom, and mail it to me, along with a check.  Register by January 6.

Simple Landscapes with Fabulous Skies
The best watercolor paintings are often the simplest!  We will learn how to paint gorgeous skies, such as: sunsets/sunrises, puffy clouds, and rain clouds.  We will learn how to simplify the landscape and buildings below, so they complement the sky.  Along the way, we will learn about composition, mixing color, and planning a successful painting.  Bring your favorite photos of skis and landscapes.   Peg will provide color worksheets, demonstrations, one-on-one help, and critiques.
