Express Yourself in Watercolors: 6 week class

Break free from those tight watercolor techniques, and explore the fluidity and spontaneity that only comes from watercolor.  Through guided exercises, you will build confidence in using watercolor in a more expressive way.  Whether you are a beginner, or looking for a fresher approach to painting, this class will inspire you to have fun and discover new possibilities with watercolor. 

We will explore methods such as: painting wet in wet, simplifying shapes, using a limited palette, experimenting with mediums and textures, and using materials other than brushes to apply paint.  You will be encouraged to follow your own interests.  Throughout the six weeks, planning and composition will be emphasized.  Peg will provide demonstrations, color worksheets, one on one help, and weekly reviews of student paintings.

Loosen Up in Watercolor: Saturday workshop

Whether you are an experienced painter who wants to loosen up, or someone who hasn’t been painting in awhile, this class will be beneficial to you.  Peg will lead you through two paintings, with step by step demonstrations.  She will also provide color worksheets and individual help.  You will learn valuable skills, meet other painters, and have fun.  And, you will go home with two watercolors (you may have to put the finishing touches on at home).  Painting in Watercolors with a Limited Palette: Saturday workshop

You’ve heard it is best to paint watercolors with a limited palette, but how do you start?  How do you know which colors to choose? How do you mix many colors with only 3-5 pigments?  Join us in a fun workshop to learn the magic of working with a limited set of colors.  Peg will help you choose colors that work together, and learn how to mix them to create a beautiful palette.  You will discover that you can produce a myriad of colors with the paints you already own.  The results will be two paintings that have color harmony and mood.  Please bring photos or sketches that you’d like to work from.  This class includes demonstrations and worksheets for two paintings, along with plenty of individual help.  Space is limited, so don’t wait to sign up.  Bring a friend, and have even more fun!
