  • "Peg's classes are always fun.  Come ready to learn, and leave as a better paint!"
Plein Air Painting in Watercolor
with Beverley Street Studio School
(An in-person, mostly outside class)

Dates: Mondays, June 7- July 12, 2021 (6 classes)
Time: 9-12
Skill Level: This class is for students with some experience in basic watercolor techniques, and those who are more advanced in skill level. Open to ages 13 and up.
Location: We will be painting outside, unless the weather is bad (when we may paint in the studios). Each outside class will be at a different scenic location, within about an hours' drive of Staunton. Class size is limited, so don't wait to sign up.
Tuition: $190 for members, $220 for nonmembers
Registration: Register online, at www.bssschool.org, or email director@bssschool.org.  Office hours are limited, but you can leave a message at (540)886-8636. A materials list will be available.

Discover the joy of painting outside, and visit some of the prettiest places in our area! You will be amazed at how painting en plein air will increase your skill. We will learn tools for distilling a complicated scene into connected shapes and values. Peg will share various methods and tools for plein air painting, and will do demonstrations on site. You will choose what you paint. Soon all of your paintings, en plein air or in the studio, will improve. Subject matter will vary.
We will meet outside, at a predetermined location each week, unless the weather is bad (when we will either meet in the studio or reschedule the class). The instructor will offer critiques and individual help. A materials list will be provided.
Important: We will be following CDC guidelines. Do not attend if you aren't feeling well.

Don't believe the myth that watercolor painting is too hard, and mistakes are forever! I will show you the techniques you need to paint, and how to fix mistakes.  You will be surprised how quickly you improve, with good instruction!

My classes fill up quickly, so don't wait. Keep checking my website, as classes will be added.
